FREE TERRAIN 3D MODEL
To create the 3D Model of Egypt, I used a combination of DEM data, water datasets, vector files and various satellite images.
From the high-resolution DEM, I subtracted water data to slightly deepen the rivers and lakes. I use the vector data to crop the model along the contour of the boundaries. Next, I generate a highly polygonal mesh. I create a normal map and a mesh with fewer polygons (the normal map will return all the details of the high-polygon model when rendered). Satellite textures were applied without using a UV layer. The result is a fairly detailed and accurate digital terrain model.
3D model of Egypt is available for free download in C4D format. If you need another format, for example FBX or OBJ, please let me know.
FREE TERRAIN 3D PRINT MODEL
A 3D model for printing is slightly different from a model for graphic design.
1. Popular formats for 3D printers are STL or OBJ
2. The mesh of the 3D model should not contain errors
3. 3D models for printing usually have a higher number of polygons. Graphic design tries to make a low-polygon model, which is not always suitable for printing, especially on SLA (DLP) printers.

FREE TERRAIN CNC 3D MODELS
CNC programs such as ArtCam or Aspire are great at processing large files, even with mesh errors. It also works well with open meshes from below, which allows you to make 3D terrain models with more polygons (more detail) at a smaller file size.
